Two Months Without The NBA

It has now been two months since Adam Silver decided the NBA would go on hiatus because of the Coronavirus after Rudy Gobert was announced as the first positive test the league had. This was found out moments before the start of a game where the Utah Jazz would play the Thunder in Oklahoma City. Since then, the league has not been able to return and Adam Silver has made no comment on where or when the NBA could return to finish the season.  This man saved the NBA by doing his job. There have been a lot of rumours about when the NBA could return and where it would be held, but Shaq came to comment and essentially said, "scrap the season." This is pretty logical if you read into his comment, especially because of people like Rudy Gobert who love to treat Corona like it's some sort of joke. Who's laughing now, Rudy? You told a kid who roasted you about it to "go to school" even though schools are shut, you numb nut. Don't joke about it if you can't hand...

Mark Richardson: A Great Kiwi Embarrassment

New Zealand has had a pretty good bout against Coronavirus and arguably has made the best response out of every country in the world. Jacinda Ardern, love her or hate her, has made a pretty good effort out of this all and I think we can drop political colours to acknowledge it, but there are those arrogant morons who refuse to acknowledge any of what has been done is good, and one of those people is named Mark Richardson. Mark, to his credit, contributed a lot to the success of New Zealand Cricket in his days of playing, but beyond that, I'm not sure we can count hosting The Block NZ as any sizable success for him, I mean that show was only good for what? One season? But yeah, he's alright when it comes to cricket and I'll give him that much before I absolutely do what needs to be done. "NEEEEOOM" - Mark Richardson For some reason, Mark Richardson seems to think he is some national icon that is loved by everyone, but realistically, he is a retired...

Dear Corona, We Hate You... Leave Sports Alone.

It's no secret that there is a global pandemic. The Coronavirus has well and truly ruined the world of sports and everything that surrounds it. This is enough of a reason for me to passionately hate it. It has left my bloggers to try and literally search for content and be left with absolutely nothing. Corona has left me here playing sports games on my phone instead of enjoying the games that I pay all that money for... On the bright side of that, I was playing some game made by the MLB where my Phillies just won their second straight World Series... So, you know, enjoying the made-up bullshit that comes with building in-game teams. Corona cancelled March Madness. That's bad enough Like I said, there's no content to post from the Sports World, but we can still enjoy the finer things in life... Like hating Roger Goodell and thinking Jim Boylen is the biggest chump in Chicago or remembering how overrated the Calgary Flames are... Winnipeg might not have the Stanley C...

The NBA's Donkey... Draymond Green.

Draymond Green, the three-time NBA Champion, and three-time NBA All-Star has been talking a lot lately... I mean a lot. If you follow any private and good NBA content account, you'll see that he's been talking. I mean, the man won't shut up. It doesn't help that he's had beef with Charles Barkley for a long time all the while thinking he is a gift to the world. He said last week that he "changed basketball with the help of Steph Curry"... Like, you piece of crap. The only thing you changed was the number of zeros you have in your bank account with the number of fines you got for all that crap you pulled. Get over yourself Draymond, with Klay, Steph, and KD, and Charles Barkley also said this, you wouldn't have anything in this league. It's the same... Prove me wrong. I'll give him credit, he's a great defender and he deserves to be mentioned for that... But to me... That's it. That's all he is. He is not a well-rounded play...

Gronk Was Traded to Where? Tampa Bay?!

So the Pats lost their Quarterback, so they decided to give up Gronk too. This, from just looking at it, looks like an absolute travesty for New England. It looks like Boston is going to have a completely incompetent sports team for once... But no. This actually works in New England's favour and I mean entirely, especially in the long run. Here's what happened. NEW ENGLAND RECEIVE: Fourth- Round Pick TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS RECEIVE: Rob Gronkowski Seventh-Round Pick But how the hell does this work in New England's favour? I mean, I don't know why the Patriots are getting a lot of crap about this. It's a really smart move when you think about it. But a lot of Football fans are overenthusiastic monkeys who'll hate on the Pats for no reason, just like us at Yammer. But, honestly, Tampa Bay having Tom Brady and now Gronk solidifies them as a relatively solid team to a lot of the league. This, in theory, will bring some success which will take away their chanc...

A New Quarterback and New Uniforms for New England.

The New England Patriots are set to release new uniforms soon. Our old friend Tom grew old of New England, so he moved to Tampa Bay to work under Bucs Head Coach, Bruce Arians. I don't know why Tom left. If I was him, I wouldn't have left the Pats. Bill Belichick, in my eyes, is a more competent coach and the Patriots are a better team for Tom. But hey, if he wants to go, he can go. Belichick and Brady These new uniforms should hopefully look amazing. They've worn the same boring crap for years with little to no change. There is something about Boston that makes them like wearing the same uniforms year after year... I mean look at the Celtics, that same colour grouping since, probably their first game in history. The Redsox are no better, but it's not often you see many major changes in MLB uniforms. The Bruins also don't make an overwhelming amount of change to their uniforms. Boston is, though, a big sports city. I don't know what the Patriots are tr...

Covid-19 Hits the NFL (We still hate Roger Goodell)

The NFL has now become the final sport of the four major US Sports to have contracted Covid-19.  As of right now, two active players have tested positive for the virus. Brian Allen (Los Angeles Rams) and Von Miller (Denver Broncos) are the two confirmed players. Who knows, Goodell is probably threatening people around the league with consequences if they confirm they have the virus. Let's admit it, Goodell is an ass hole and this sounds like something he would try to sweep under the rug. All going well, these two will be done with the virus in a matter of weeks, but if I'm honest, something tells me that slug, Roger Goodell, has a grip on some players and has told them not to speak up so he can keep the show on the road. We've already been told that Goodell won't postpone the NFL Draft, risking a lot of crap for team staff and we know Donald Trump has told him that there shouldn't be a delay in the season, so it wouldn't surprise me if this absolute dog of a c...

Vince "Air Canada" Carter Would've Played His Last Regular Season Game Tomorrow

Vince Carter, current Atlanta Hawks small forward and shooting guard, was set to play his final regular-season game tomorrow in his NBA career. His professional career started when he was drafted fifth overall in 1998 by the Golden State Warriors, but then traded to Toronto in exchange for the fourth pick, Antawn Jamison. They were both Juniors out of North Carolina. Along with Jamison, Vince was drafted in a class that included Paul Pierce, Dirk Nowitzki, Rashard Lewis and Mike Bibby. Vince Carter This post is a bit different from the usual crap you see on Yammer. But here are some really impressive numbers that won't be able to sum up who Vince Carter was as a basketball player. Vince, at this point in time, has played in 1541 NBA games, averaging 16.7 points a game, 4.3 Rebounds and 3.1 Assists. He has contributed over 25,000 points to scoreboards across the NBA in his career and swatted 888 shots as recorded blocks in his career. Stats are impressive and Vince's s...

The Drought of Lord Stanley: The Long Wait for the Cup to Return Home to Canada

The Stanley Cup - with over one hundred years of history, it stands as one the hardest trophies in professional sports to lift at the pinnacle of hockey. The prestigious award is the goal for every NHL team and player, but for nearing thirty years has been absent in the true north. The Montreal Canadiens were the last Canadian team to win the cup all the way back in 1993, defeating the Los Angles Kings four games to one clinching their 24th title. Since then though... well Canada has failed to bring home the elusive trophy. As someone who has lived in Calgary, been to a Stanley Cup Playoff game and witnessed Canada's unconditional, unparalleled love for the game of hockey, the decades without a cup is more than just a wait for another championship. The best players and fans hail from Canada, as does the intense passion that sparked and nurtured the sport in its infancy. While American sport obsession is shared among many leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, etc.), hocke...

Kyle Larson: What The Heck Just Happened?

So Kyle Larson, a NASCAR Driver competing in an online race of members of the NASCAR grid, decided to be racist while forgetting he was, you know, on a race being streamed around the world. The absolute moron decided to say the word "N****". Obviously, I can't put it here. I don't have 13 million dollars to lose every year. This is unfortunate because he was driving in the same team as Scott Dixon and was actually a relatively talented driver. Kyle Larson (above) lost his job on his day off Another unfortunate thing is that Larson has made more shadows over NASCAR, a sport with a heavy outside view of being racist and the organization didn't actually handle it very well at all. I mean, I can watch NASCAR pretty happily, it's a great thing to watch that brings a totally different vibe to a room than Formula One. I'm not from the States, so I can't exactly speak from a place of expertise. Here is his apology video, which I think is pretty poi...

Philadelphia Sports: A Cry For Help

Philadelphia has a lot to cry about. I'm not talking about the fact they live in Philadelphia, I mean, of course, the 76ers, the Flyers, the Phillies and, of course, the NFL version of the Cavs... Those pathetic Eagles. I mean I love Philly sports, but if we're being realistic, the best thing we have going for us right now is the Flyers. The Flyers, as of right now, are sixth in the league, a very strong showing. In terms of the eastern conference, they're fourth. This is pretty good for Philadelphia. We are being shown some legitimate athleticism. I mean... I don't support the Flyers, I support the Winnipeg Jets and I'm proud to say that, even though the Hockey stinks. But the Flyers are a really good product at the moment. They're three points ahead of the Penguins which is arguably just as important than winning the Cup. Besides, whenever Philly win anything (eyes on you Eagles), they become the most moronic excuses for athletes we have ever seen. About t...

The XFL - A Sad Farewell... Again...

COVID-19 has ruined a lot of stuff lately. The NBA was the first league to shut down due to the Rudy Gobert testing positive for the virus (and honestly what an idiot with how he joked about it) which saw the entire league shut down. The NHL, logically, closely followed this decision. Everyone knew the hiatus of these leagues would lead to an eventual return. Absolutely nobody is worried about the financial stability of these leagues, but unfortunately, this virus has caused the shut down of the XFL, the league that tried to rival the everyday crap of Roger Goodell and the NFL. This league was great and showed that it didn't try to take itself too seriously. We all could appreciate the beauty behind that, but unfortunately that has been taken away. The extra sad thing about the XFL shutting down mid-season, though, is that it is now unlikely to return from this. I wasn't hoping it would become bigger than the NFL, in honesty, it didn't bother me whether it did or not, b...

KG Wants The Seattle Supersonics Back?

Kevin Garnett, the 2020 Hall of Fame inductee, has said he wants to bring the Sonics back to Seattle. I would love to see the Sonics back in the league. I think Seattle is a great place to have an NBA Team. I would take a small-mid market team with no clue what it's doing and has no chance with where it is right now and put them in Seattle and call them the Supersonics. But what team would I get rid of in the current league to put them in Seattle? I'm not taking into consideration the divisions and conferences, this is purely my fantasy at the moment. But I think you need one absolute excuse of a team for this to work and for nobody in the league to really mind that much. So, I look at who is at the bottom of the league. This leaves Golden State and Minnesota from the west and Atlanta and Cleveland from the east. I'm not going to move the Warriors because they have a solid team when they're all healthy and have a solid future ahead of them. T-Wolves are a team I don...

Make Chicago Great Again.

The Chicago Bulls have just hired Arturas Karnisovas as the new Head of Basketball Operations. He's coming from his role in Denver as their General Manager. This finally means we can say good to the absolute dog named John Paxson. The even better news is knowing that Arturas is now in charge of replacing that other dog who is named Gar Forman, the current Bulls GM. This front office restructure will hopefully do a lot for the Bulls. Let's be honest, if you support Basketball, you support Chicago. You don't necessarily like them, but nobody moans when Chicago wins a game or two... Probably because they don't win games that much anymore. Let's also admit this, Chicago hosted what is probably the best All-Star Weekend, in terms of format, I've seen in years. I'm a big fan of Chicago sports, I hope they do really well. But let's see what other moves the new Head of Basketball Operations makes for his front office. Let's also hope they can get rid of ...

Trump's Conference with League Commissioners (Goodell is a MORON)

President Donald Trump held a conference call with the commissioners of a number of major US Sporting Leagues including Adam Silver (NBA), Rob Manfred (MLB), Gary Bettman (NHL) and the walking tumour that is Roger Goodell (NFL). Adam Silver (NBA), is still wanting to crown a champion for the current season with many rumours going around including one where all games would be played in Las Vegas to limit the travel for teams and therefore slowing the spread of COVID-19. Commissioner Silver has said that the league would need an "all clear" from leading health officials before any return could be made. I want to talk about Roger Goodell though... That pointless piece of crap that controls the National Football League. This completely money-driven, careless and purely disgraceful piece of work has told the teams in the league that they need to be ready to conduct the draft as usual even though facilities are shut through to April the 8th at least with the draft being held on...

Before COVID-19: The Philadelphia 76ers

It is no secret that I am a big fan of the Philadelphia 76ers. I trusted Sam Hinkey and what he tried with "The Process" and a third-place finish in the East (51-31) for 2018-19 was exactly what everyone wanted for Philadelphia but after quite possibly the regular season we all wanted, our postseason was over after one clutch shot from Kawhi Leonard. To get over how butt-hurt everyone was after that game seven loss, everyone's attention turned to the 2019-20 NBA Season. The preseason that saw the 76ers dominate everyone they faced until they decided to roll over and die against the Wizards, so hopes were pretty high for what was looking to be a successful season. The first game of the season saw Philly beat Boston 107-93, a good showing that pleased a Wells Fargo Center crowd in Philadelphia. The next two games were played on the road against Detroit and Atlanta which anyone with any sense would think these would be relatively easy for an 'all-star' team like th...

Yammer House Sports - Day One

A Letter to The New Yammer Faithful. Yammer House - It's a sports blog that'll probably die within three months, but screw it... here we are. This isn't the blog for you if you want a report of the game just played between Philadelphia and Boston. Yammer is a bunch of dudes writing down their thoughts about sport. Don't expect anything great, because we definitely aren't. We don't care if you want to insult us, in fact, we'll encourage it. The purpose of this blog is not to be professional, we just say what all sports fans are thinking and we will see how it goes from there. We don't expect this to last very long, but after it's all said and done, let's catch up for a beer or seven and talk Sports. Welcome to the House. - The General
